Getting Ready for Christmas — One Cookie, One Cut, One Cozy Day at a Time
Share
There’s something magical about this stretch of December—when the days feel shorter, the to-do lists feel longer, and the scent of Christmas seems tucked into every corner of life. Here in the South, we’re trying our best to stay warm, layering up just enough to battle those chilly mornings before peeling everything back off by lunchtime. Southern winter, right?
Inside our home and woodshop, though, the temperature is perfect: warm ovens, warm coffee, and warm sawdust drifting through the air as we hustle toward the finish line of our final show of the season.
Between batches of fresh Christmas cookies (because holiday spirit requires sugar), we’re in the shop shaping, sanding, staining, and fine-tuning the last pieces that will be coming with us to our final event of 2025.
This Saturday, December 13, you’ll find us at the Riverwalk in Shallotte—our last show of the season, and one we always look forward to. There’s something special about ending the year surrounded by festive lights, handmade artistry, and a community that has supported us from day one.
As we get everything ready—packing up ornaments, polishing intarsia pieces, double-checking displays, and sneaking another cookie or two—we can’t help but feel grateful. This season has been full: full of creativity, full of long nights in the shop, full of laughter, and full of the kind of joy only handmade art can bring.
So here’s to Christmas coming quickly, the shop heater working overtime, cookies keeping us motivated, and one last beautiful show before we close out the year.
If you’re local, come see us this Saturday at the Riverwalk.
Bring a coat…or don’t. It is the South, after all.
Stay warm, stay merry, and we’ll see you soon.
