Shifting Seasons: From Weddings to Fall Festivals

Shifting Seasons: From Summer Weddings to Fall Festivals

As summer wraps up, so do the busy months of weddings, outdoor markets, and warm-weather events. It’s been a whirlwind season filled with laughter, love, and the hum of creativity here in the shop. With the last of the summer events behind us, I’m shifting gears and setting my sights on fall — my favorite time of year for woodworking.

Lately, we've been deep into a special commissioned piece that’s destined to be a one-of-a-kind Christmas gift. I can’t reveal the design just yet (that’ll have to wait until after Christmas!), but it’s a project that’s pushing my creativity in all the best ways. There’s something magical about crafting a piece that will become part of someone’s holiday story.

And speaking of exciting things — November 1 marks a first for Leaves A Burn! We'll be a vendor at the Pecan Festival in Whiteville, NC. It’s our debut at this event, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our latest intarsia and scroll saw work with everyone. Fall festivals bring such a special kind of energy — the crisp air, the scent of roasted nuts, and a community gathered around handmade art.

As we move from summer weddings to cozy autumn days, we're feeling grateful for how far this little woodworking adventure has come — and for all of you who continue to follow along, cheer us on, and support the art that comes out of the shop.

Stay tuned for more sneak peeks and that top-secret Christmas commission reveal once the wrapping paper comes off!
